Cheryl on Amber and Linnea on Australian for Beer (Foster)

Cheryl and Linnea are a mother-daughter team with over 60 years of combined horse experience.

We got back into horses in 2004 after nearly 20 years out of the business.

in the 80's we had a farm in northern Virginia and foxhunted with the last hunt to hunt in Fairfax County where George Washington did a lot of foxhunting.  Linnea started hunting when she was 8 and was hunting first field when she was almost 10.  She was a junior whip when she was 12 having been awarded her colors the previous year.  Cheryl was on the board of directors of Pohick Valley Hunt for several years and also served as a whipper-in for two years.  We bought off the track Thoroughbred mares back then for retraining as field hunters and brood mares, but at the time that was only a hobby as Cheryl had a commuting job as a Veterinary Pathologist around the DC Beltway.

Cheryl has only been back on horses since 2004 as she spent almost 20 years in a wheelchair or using an electric scooter due to Multiple Sclerosis.  When things changed majorly for her that year, Cheryl and Linnea decided to try to make a "go" of a horse farm, and started looking for a place and horses, as well as all the required gear as we no longer had anything "horsey".  We find our horses mostly through CANTER in various states and some locally here in Florida so most are rescues (as are most of our 9 dogs and 10 cats).  We buy them for retraining as sport horses and eventers for resale or as our own broodmares.  When we started, we were buying only grey mares and had quite a nice group started.  When we had an opportunity to buy a Jockey Club registered buckskin weanling stud prospect in 2005 (Quickgoldbucks by Guaranteed Gold), our main breeding focus shifted so we have since sold most of our grey mares and replaced them with Sabino or Rabicano Thoroughbred mares to breed to our "Bucky" when he was old enough. Bucky's first foals will be arriving late spring/summer 2008.

We are also standing at stud Artrageous who is the son of the 1999 Eclipse Champion Sprinter Artax. He is a very flashy bay with a large star and four white socks. His first foals started arriving in March 2008 and we are incredibly pleased with them. Artrageous is also eventing and is doing very well.

Our farm is situated on 20 beautiful acres in extreme North central Florida. We have an abundance of local wildlife including fox, deer, turkey, and coyote. We also have a natural wetland on the farm with other interesting creatures in residence. See Other Creatures for more...

Our Goal in the horse industry is to produce colorful, conformationally and mentally correct horses with excellent movement that are suitable for any sport especially jumping, dressage and racing.
